About the Hotel

A modern conference centre with hotel facilities

We share a history with Den Kommunale Højskole (The Municipal Folk High School), but today we are an independent and modern hotel and conference centre. Presence and togetherness are values that originate from our history rooted in the Danish folk high school; today, added some modern conference and meeting management.

We begin the day with morning assembly singing songs from Højskolesangbogen (the Danish folk high school's own songbook). It is a good start to a day with solidarity and high spirits. Therefore, we can also offer a different conference and hotel experience where there is still room for contemplation, dialogue and artistic experiences.

The art collection

At Kystvejens Hotel og Konferencecenter, there is a wide collection of contemporary Danish art. The collection consists of approximately 650 paintings, ceramics and sculptures that have been accumulated over the past forty years by the previous owner of the house.

The collection is representative of Danish art in the period in which it was accumulated. There are for instance many paintings by the best Danish artists, including several local artists from all of Djursland.
It is possible to look at the significant part of the collection if one takes a tour round the hotel's corridors, communal rooms, conference rooms and group rooms.
